Special Effects Filmmaking

Ever wonder how they create the special effects in movies?  Now you can learn how it is done! BASCP is happy to be partnering with CinemaKidz to offer Special Effects Movie Making for BASCP students in grades 2-5 on Wednesdays. 

Description:  Become a special effects pro with CinemaKidz! Learn how to create amazing visual effects, awesome make-up looks, prosthetics, props, and costumes to use in an original sci-fi, fantasy, or adventure film. Kids will get creative as they try their hand at various special effects techniques: building prosthetics and masks, combining claymation and live action video, experimenting with the potential of green screens, practicing various camera tricks, utilizing stock videos, video filters and much more! Participants will learn how to make movies from start to finish as they plan, write, film, and edit one awesome sfx inspired project, utilizing professional software for post production.

Grades:  Grades 2-5

Dates:  January 10, 2024-March 20, 2024 (10 Wednesday sessions)

Time:  3:30-5:00 PM

Cost: $300 Checks can be made payable to BASCP.

To register, please contact us. For BASCP students to attend, a completed waiver and check to must be submitted to BASCP by Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
